Weeble

Is there a point at which the Weeble no longer just woobles but merely falls down? Can the burden's of one's own misery be enough that our poor weeble simply becomes top heavy and tumbles never to rise again? I wonder.

Quoteables

him: "I feel like I'm falling, will you catch me?"
--Pause--
her: "I'll have to get back to you on that."

Tired

I could use nap. Or maybe a long sleep. I'm not clear on the delineation between what makes something a nap and what constitutes actually going to bed. If it's at night, is it always going to bed? What if you only sleep for an hour or two, that's not really a good night's sleep, but it's a quality nap. Perhaps this all falls into the optimist/pessimist category. An optimist says it's a great nap, while a pessimist decries it as a lousy, almost useless night of sleep. I don't know. Either way I'm tired. Not physically, just mentally beat. I wonder if there are different ways of classifying sleep based on why you are sleeping?

I just checked...no one gives a crap. Figures.

change in plans

Was going to impart some great bits of wisdom and humor, but it appears I've lost the inspiration. In fact, I don't feel much like anything right now. Thanks for dropping by though. Enjoy your day.

American Idol

Kicked off last night.....now I'm not on the Tom Cruise kick or anything but I certainly think we overmedicate our problems. Our answer to almost everything seems to be a drug of some sort which really just deadens the problem as opposed to dealing with it and doing away with it. That said, after watching last night and the trail of delusional people who are under the mistaken impression that they are the best singers in the world when in actuality they sound like a banshee getting smacked in the nuts with a mace while being rabbit punched in the throat by an in-his-prime Mike Tyson, it's become clear to me that we aren't drugging our youth enough. Seriously. More drugs. Lots. Or, at the very least, listen to a tape of yourself before you go. If that doesn't work, take that tape to a diner (out of state where no one knows you) and play it and get some honest feedback. Obviously there are some families out there who either are desperate to get on television or hate their children so much that they'd convince them they can sing so they make fools of themselves on television. Either way it's wrong.

Awww Hell Yeah.....

I've decided that instead of getting angry each time Bush changes course and admits that he either lied previously about something, or was wrong, but that he's right now anyway and everyone should just shut up about it....I'm now just going to go along with things. It just seems easier. Come with me take the pill. We'll all be happier (and safer and more free and have no children left behind and cleaner skies and healthier forests and spreading democracy and stuff). It just makes sense.

Yes, Well....

There are a lot of things that celebrities do that might seem stupid, but they rarely surprise you. This one, I will admit, caught me off guard...

Sorry, that was a left at the light?

Direction

It’s a funny thing in today’s world
We’ve got all sorts of devices
From the ancient stars to guide us
To the compass
To global positioning satellites
All to tell us where we are
And how to get where we want to go
And yet
Despite all this aid
It’s still so easy
To find ourselves lost
