On The Other Hand

The Wonder Stuff have a new album out....it's pretty good...falls somewhere between Never Loved Elvis and Construction For the Modern Idiot. I'd recommend checking it out. It's called Suspended by Stars.

Hmmm

Still thinking on the book...the tepid response gives one pause for thought.

Do I write a book this year?

Hmmm

So, part of the emergency bird flu pandemic plan is to create drive through medical clinics....interesting, but I thought managed care already had that down....show up....brief conversation with a nurse or nurse practitioner and then a drive by visit by a doctor who carefully avoids any indepth conversation and who then quickly hands you back over to the nurse before shuffling you out the door (but not before collecting their co-pay). Looking forward to the improved bird flu experience.

Boy

These immigrant folks are really pissed off about this whole sending them back thing. It's almost like they don't understand the damage they do to this country with all their working and stuff. And what about all the low wage jobs they are stealing from good hardworking Americans. I think we should let them stay, but legislate that they can only work higher end jobs leaving those desirable low end jobs for the real americans who want them.
Also, I think we should build a really giant wall at the border because if Maginot taught us anything, it's when determined people come up against a wall, they give up. So build that sucker, big and tall with large murals of big American flags and images of freedom on the Mexican side so they know just what they are missing. I'm sure that will inspire them to stay home an emulate us. By emulating us I mean they could build a wall on their southern border to keep out the Guatamalans and Belizians.

Catching Up

What? You were hoping for an April Fools Post? Too easy.

Learned this weekend: There is nothing quite like the look of abject terror on your child's face to inspire joy in a parent.

A not so well known, two term vice president once said, "An unchecked majority is a despotism" ....just something to ponder.

I built some shelves with a friend this weekend. They now hold my cds...the fact that I helped build them and they are holding anything seems rather remarkable to me. The fact that they are square and turned out like we planned I believe qualifies as a minor miracle....if nothing else it's a likely sign of an impending apocalypse.
