Now even the sun
Which is the powerful thing in our universe
Strong enough that
96 million miles from us
its heat still warms us
on a clear summer’s day
so strong that
linger too long in it’s light
and you’ll be burned
but even so
it cannot escape
the one thing that everything
no matter how strong
succumbs to
even our star cannot escape
time
for that burning orb
bright in our sky
no matter how bright
and no matter how hot
on any given day
will soon give into the passing
of that day
and soon it shall set in the west
and be devoured by the oncoming darkness
and that burning heat
that brings light
that kisses life
is replaced by the cold cool
embrace of the night
