Being Lazy is A Bitch
That definately slows down my writing here, but what's Bush's excuse for his speech tonight. Seriously... I swear he just recycled his greatest hits from the last two years and spit it back out again...
Everything is getting better ---except for the growing insurgency and the killings and the (lack of) infastructure
We fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here--- of course, better known as the "Red Dawn" defense. If we didn't maintain that embargo against Cuba, they're become a world power and take over the United States faster than you can suggest that China's already doing that economically. Let's be honest. You won't find a bigger red herring in the lake adjacent to Chernobyl. Just because they're fighting us in Iraq, doesn't mean they can't come here. Do you think Al-Qaeda really sits there in meetings and shoots down ideas to attack us here because they can't afford a plane ticket? I doubt it.
He also said our enemy's greatest fear is freedom...honestly? Freedom? Ten terrorists surround a single american soldier, he offers to take them with him to freedom....they drop their guns and flee...one kills himself, choking to death on his own tyranny. Please.
The worst thing about the speech, it lacked the candor that it needs to get people behind the war. Just be honest.
We lied to get into this because we thought it would give us an advantage in certain areas of the world...we did it for you...we were wrong. But we, unfortunately, can't leave now because Iraq would fall into chaos and that vaccum might create a dangerous situation in the middle east. It's gonna take us a couple of years, but eventually we'll jerry-rig something there that will allow us to pull a lot of our troops back home.
Again, sorry about that whole war thing.
