hate

I hate that it betrays me at every turn
that it lifts me up
only to violently return me to the earth
and that I believe
every thought it forces upon me
that wills me to rise again
despite the fact that it knows
what lies in wait for me
once I stand.

Thought

I think it's time for the rise of a third party to replace to democrats....it's happened periodically through our history as one party is drawn too far over to the other leaving a huge gap in the opposition. I think that's the position we're in now. I have no clue what the democrats stand for, but certainly when they speak it's only a matter of nuance that differentiates them from the Republican rhetoric. Where does that third party come from? It's unclear at this point. The only thing that is clear is that it's time.

Ahhh

"So," he said. "Good always wins over evil."
I raised an eyebrow. "Isn't that a bit naive?"
"Nope." He answered confidently. "It's always been that way."
"Evil has to win sometimes, right?"
"Nope, see it works like this....Whomever wins gets to write the history books. No one who wins ever sees themselves as evil. In fact, they typically see themselves as righteous. So, when they write their history, good will have prevailed and hence good always wins over evil."
"That's a semantical nuance. They can still be evil even if they write that they are good."
He smiled, "think so?"
"Yeah."
Then he pulled out a gun and put it on the table in front of us.
"So," he said putting his hand over the gun with a smile, "which of us is right now?"

Overheard

It's not that I'm conceited, I just think everyone should be looking at me. Why would they want to look at someone else. Weird.
