poem
I stopped breathing
the air tainted by the words
my head pummeled
by jabs of truth
knocked back
by uppercuts of hurt
i stood stunned
eyes wide
my own words
abandoned me
i reached out
hand shaking
hoping for that
reassuring touch
but the shaking
was too much
the touch spoiled
she drew away
she drew away
she turned
there was no goodbye
this was goodbye
still, though hours later
I cannot breathe
I will not anymore
with her gone
there is nothing left
for me to take in
the air tainted by the words
my head pummeled
by jabs of truth
knocked back
by uppercuts of hurt
i stood stunned
eyes wide
my own words
abandoned me
i reached out
hand shaking
hoping for that
reassuring touch
but the shaking
was too much
the touch spoiled
she drew away
she drew away
she turned
there was no goodbye
this was goodbye
still, though hours later
I cannot breathe
I will not anymore
with her gone
there is nothing left
for me to take in

Good to know
The policy of "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" is more of an informal rule than an actual law. Unfortunately, as I've come to find, there are no laws on the books anywhere that suspend any actions you might have taken in Vegas from either being used against you later by a (now) former spouse or by law enforcement officials. Personally I'd like to apologize to everyone on the eighth floor of Paris and to whomever had to clean out that dumpster. I'm so sorry.

Strange
Not sure if this is remarkable or embaressing....driving home today from work I was passed on the highway by a Delorean. Seriously. I did a triple take. Some guy, wearing his sunglasses and talking on his cell phone, was driving and looking as cool as one might imagine someone driving that car outside the confines of the Back to the Future movies might look. I didn't have a camera to take a picture for evidence...Thought about forcing him off the road so others could see, but I needed to get home and feed the dog.
